Lake in Sylvan Beach

In season now · May – Oct

Verona Beach State Park’s campground ran May 30–Oct 12 in 2026; its beach is open daily from mid-June to Labor Day.

Sheltered creek paddles at Oneida Lake’s east end.

Oneida Lake is big and shallow, and waves build quickly when the wind runs down its 21-mile length, so local paddlers launch at the east end and pick their water. From Sylvan Beach you can follow the canal channel and turn up Fish Creek, where cottages and campgrounds give way to woods and fields after about an hour, or use Verona Beach State Park’s non-motorized launch for calm-morning lake paddles and sunsets. It’s about 20 minutes from Verona, easy enough for an evening outing.
