Glacier’s biggest campground, by Lake McDonald.

Apgar is Glacier’s largest campground, wooded and spread out a short stroll from Lake McDonald’s sunsets, the Apgar Village boat dock and the start of Going-to-the-Sun Road. It stays open all year: reservations from spring to fall, primitive camping in the shoulder seasons and free winter camping with a park pass. Fish Creek, a few miles up the lake’s north shore, is the next choice when Apgar is full.
