Mather Campground
National park in Grand Canyon Village
30 ft / 27 ft max RV / trailer · About 7,000 ft elevation
Open all year; reservations recommended Mar 1 to Nov 30. Stage 4 water limits since Aug 31, 2026: dry camping, spigots off, no wood or charcoal fires. The North Rim campground closes Oct 15.
2026 NPS family-site fee; park entrance fee is extra
The South Rim’s big campground, a mile from the edge.
The only campground in Grand Canyon Village: 327 sites under ponderosa, piñon and juniper about a mile from the rim, with the free shuttle, market and visitor center close by. It’s open all year and the easiest way to be at the rim for sunrise and sunset. Since late August 2026, flood damage to the park’s waterline means dry camping only, no campfires and no in-park hotels, so bring water.
