Old-growth redwoods on the banks of the Smith River.
Old-growth redwoods tower over this campground on the Smith River, California’s largest undammed river system, a few miles inland from Crescent City. Swim, fish or paddle from the river beach, then walk to Stout Grove and drive the gravel Howland Hill Road. Sites are fairly close and full in summer, and rigs over 25 ft won’t fit.
